The undergraduate student’s knowledge of the systems and regulations governing the educational process within the college is one of the means that helps her to pass her academic years without problems or obstacles. Hence, the role of academic guidance in activating the relationship between the student and the faculty members of the college is highlighted through a system that introduces the student to the college and its academic and student systems, and the areas and study opportunities it provides to help students choose the specialties that suit their abilities and potentials, and agree with their inclinations and desires, as well as helping them to study in the best possible way and overcome obstacles, making the most of the services and possibilities provided by the college.<\/span><\/h4>\n<\/div>\n

Academic counseling is a Supervisory Service that aims to introduce the student to the objectives and mission of the college<\/a>, its scientific departments, the fields of work of graduates of the college, and the aspects of care and services provided by the college to its students.<\/span><\/h4>\n

Vision of academic guidance:<\/span><\/h4>\n

\u00a0 Academic counseling is a way to build a distinguished personality and renewed knowledge for college students and build positive relationships between female teachers and students.<\/span><\/h4>\n

Objectives of academic counseling:<\/span><\/h4>\n

* Providing academic support to students in order to achieve the completion of the requirements of the study plan within the specified time period.<\/span><\/h4>\n

* Following up the performance of students during their studies, providing support to those who are academically deficient, improving their levels, and developing the academically outstanding.<\/span><\/h4>\n

* Introducing students to the study plan and providing University awareness to them.<\/span><\/h4>\n

* Provide tips on how to develop reading, writing, studying and research skills.<\/span><\/h4>\n

* Helping students overcome academic challenges and solve problems that may face them.<\/span><\/h4>\n

* Assist new students who are moving from one level of study to another in adapting to their new study environment.<\/span><\/h4>\n

* Distribute the students to the academic guides at the college and announce this in special schedules.<\/span><\/h4>\n

* Introducing students to their guidance and the importance of the guidance process.<\/span><\/h4>\n

* Urge students to check with the academic advisor during the announced office hours.<\/span><\/h4>\n

Cases that require academic guidance:<\/span><\/h4>\n

* Sudden decrease in academic performance without justifiable reasons.<\/span><\/h4>\n

* An unjustified request to postpone or withdraw from the college.<\/span><\/h4>\n

* Complaints by faculty members about persistent negative behaviors shown by the student.<\/span><\/h4>\n

* The student’s poor ability to express his problems or describe them clearly.<\/span><\/h4>\n

* Prominent manifestations of deep states of confusion, frustration, apathy or despair.<\/span><\/h4>\n

The role of the student with the academic advisor:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/h4>\n

The academic advisor is one of the faculty members of the college and does this effort for the sake of the student’s future.<\/span><\/h4>\n

There are some obligations that the university student must comply with with her academic advisor, noting that the academic advisor works for the student and he is in the status of the student’s mother or older sister, including:<\/span><\/h4>\n

* Be careful to schedule interviews with her academic advisor and commit to attending all of them, and not to be absent from them except for an emergency circumstance.<\/span><\/h4>\n

* Participate with the academic advisor and discuss with her everything that matters to your academic future.<\/span><\/h4>\n

* Make sure to take advantage of the public services provided by the college and the university, to which the academic advisor directs you.<\/span><\/h4>\n

* Be careful to listen to the advice of the academic advisor.<\/span><\/h4>\n

* Go to the academic advisor when any emergency problem occurs.<\/span><\/h4>\n
