The Doctoral dissertation entitled (“The Effect of Exercises According to the Roving Reporter Strategy on Holistic Thinking and Learning Certain Offensive Basketball Skills for Female Students”), presented by the researcher (Jiyan Ahmed Muhammad), was discussed at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Girls<\/b> \/ University of Baghdad.<\/span><\/h4>\n

The examination committee consisted of Prof. Dr. Nihad Muhammad Alwan from the University of Baghdad as Chairman, Prof. Dr. Mawahib Hameed Numan as a member, Prof. Dr. Liqaa Abdullah Ali as a member, Prof. Dr. Mayada Khalid Jassim from Mustansiriyah University as an external member, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nadeema Badr Muhammad as a member, and Prof. Dr. Intisar Owaid Ali as a member and supervisor.<\/span><\/h4>\n

The research aimed to prepare (adapt) the holistic thinking scale for first-stage female students \/ College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Girls<\/b> for the year 2024-2025; identify the degree of holistic thinking among the research sample; prepare educational units according to the roving reporter strategy to learn certain basic skills in basketball; and identify the effect of the roving reporter strategy on holistic thinking and certain offensive basketball skills among first-stage female students. The researcher used the experimental approach with a two-equivalent-group design (control group and experimental group) using strict control methods as it suits the nature of the research problem, applied on a randomly selected sample of (24) female students.<\/span><\/h4>\n

The researcher reached a number of conclusions, including: the suitability of the holistic thinking scale for the research sample members; an observed development in holistic thinking and learning certain offensive basketball skills for both the control and experimental groups, but to varying degrees; and adopting exercises according to the roving reporter strategy demonstrated a development in holistic thinking because it provided female students with an opportunity to engage in mental processes to a better degree compared to the control group members.<\/span><\/h4>\n

The researcher recommended the necessity of using the roving reporter strategy due to its positive role in developing holistic thinking and learning certain offensive basketball skills for female students; integrating the learning process through combining theoretical and practical aspects in teaching sports skills, particularly in basketball; and developing an educational curriculum using the roving reporter strategy for other samples to determine its effect on learning other basketball skills.<\/span><\/h4>\n

This discussion achieves Goal 4 of the Sustainable Development Goals: Quality Education.<\/span><\/h4>\n
