The College of Physical Education and Sports for Girls at the University of Baghdad witnessed the discussion of a master’s thesis titled (The Impact of Using a Designed Electronic Program and Specific Exercises on Developing Refereeing Performance and Some Physical Abilities of Female Basketball Students) by the student Maryam Louay Abdul-Fattah, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Leqaa Abdullah Ali from the Department of Team Games.<\/span><\/h4>\n

The study aimed to identify the refereeing performance and physical abilities of the research sample, design an electronic program that illustrates the violations, errors, and basketball refereeing signals in basketball, prepare special exercises to develop some physical abilities, investigate the impact of the designed electronic program on developing the refereeing performance of female students, and explore the effect of the specific exercises on enhancing some physical abilities of third-year students at our college.<\/span><\/h4>\n

The student concluded that the development of refereeing performance led to a decrease in the errors made by the female students during refereeing within the lesson. She observed an improvement in the student’s performance based on the play variables and under the international basketball rules. She also deduced that there was no significant difference between the electronic program followed and the specific exercises, attributed to the teaching method adopted in developing the distinctive speed strength and enhancing some physical abilities through the use of specific exercises.<\/span><\/h4>\n

The researcher also recommended the importance of using the designed electronic program as a complementary part of the basketball lesson to achieve the lesson’s objectives in a shorter time and with less effort. It is important to provide simple priorities about the basketball rules in the initial stage and then introduce the designed electronic program for refereeing basketball in the second stage of the college curriculum. Additionally, special exercises should be used to develop the student’s physical abilities, enhancing their speed endurance, speed strength of the legs, and transitional speed within the court during refereeing.<\/span><\/h4>\n

After the student’s thesis discussion, the committee recommended awarding her a Master’s Degree in Physical Education.<\/span><\/h4>\n
