The College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Girls, University of Baghdad, witnessed the discussion of the doctoral dissertation tagged (The historical development of goalball sport for the blind at the Paralympic, Arab and local levels for the period from (1976-2020), by the student (Saja Khaled Jassim) under the supervision of the teacher in the theoretical sciences branch, Prof. Dr. Zainab Ali Abdul Amir.<\/span><\/h4>\n

The study aimed to determine the origins of goalball for the blind and its spread globally, regionally and locally, to determine the establishment of international, Arab and local federations for the sample mentioned above, to identify and document the participation and achievements of the men’s teams with goalball for the blind in the Paralympic, Arab and local tournaments and tournaments, to criticize and analyze the reasons for the increase in participation and the achievements of some teams. Men for the above sample, criticism and analysis of the reasons that prevented the progress and achievement of some men’s teams in goalball for the blind in international, Arab and local tournaments.<\/span><\/h4>\n

The study concluded that the logistical aspects represented by the support, capabilities and efforts made by the players of the Iraqi men’s national team, with a goal ball for the blind, and the administrative and technical staff, are not adequately available, as well as the lack of an appropriate choice in the time and place to put the Iraqi national team players in the internal and external camps, all of which contributed to the reluctance of the Iraqi team. In achieving advanced positions and high achievement in regional, international and Paralympic tournaments and tournaments.<\/span><\/h4>\n

The study recommended the need to pay attention to the historical studies of the blind for different periods of time, as they help us in developing strategic plans and predicting the future, emphasizing the provision of material and moral support to the goal-ball players for the blind, with full sponsorship by the state and the Iraqi National Paralympic Committee to advance this sport to the level of global achievement that goes along with Civilizational development, the need for occupational therapists, physiotherapists, sports psychologists, psycho-motor and nutritionists in sports teams for people with visual impairments when they participate in various sports and internal and external competitions.<\/span><\/h4>\n

After discussing the student’s thesis, the committee recommended granting her a doctorate degree in the philosophy of physical education.<\/span><\/h4>\n
