The Continuing Education Unit at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Girls, University of Baghdad, organized a training course entitled (Spreading the Spirit of Volunteer Work), in which the two teachers in the theoretical sciences branch, Lect. Dr. Nibal Karim and Lect. Rasha Walid.<\/span><\/h4>\n

The two lecturers explained the concept of volunteer work, which is providing assistance and effort in order to work to achieve good in society in general and for its individuals in particular. It is called volunteer work because a person does it voluntarily without being forced by others to do it. It is an internal will and the dominance of the power of good over evil. And that is an evidence of the prosperity of society.<\/span><\/h4>\n

They also mentioned the types of volunteer work, including financial volunteering, health volunteering, and environmental volunteering, in addition to classifying them into other types of volunteer work that take place in the field of emergencies and disasters, such as cultural and educational volunteering, enhancing social relations and communication between people, improving the lives of individuals, and improving the personal lives of volunteers. .<\/span><\/h4>\n

They pointed out its goals: contributing to building an effective generation, serving and helping others, gaining experience from mingling with society, and investing time in what benefits society.<\/span><\/h4>\n

The two teachers concluded the course with a set of recommendations, the most important of which is the importance of raising children in a sound social manner, through the various means of upbringing, such as the family, school, and the media, playing a coordinated and integrated role in instilling the values \u200b\u200bof sacrifice, altruism, and the spirit of teamwork in the souls of young people from the early stages of childhood, and supporting institutions and bodies that work in the field of volunteer work, financially and morally, to enable it to fulfill its mission and increase its services, Focusing on volunteer activities, programs and projects that are related to satisfying the basic needs of citizens. This contributes to increasing the demand for participation in these programs.<\/span><\/h4>\n

This scientific event is consistent with the fourth goal of the United Nations sustainable development goals, which relates to ensuring the provision of high-quality education and equal learning opportunities for all.<\/span><\/h4>\n
