Within the framework of strengthening cooperation and exchanging scientific expertise with governmental and non-governmental institutions, the Assistant Dean for Administrative and Financial Affairs at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Girls, University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Aseel Jalil Kati, held a scientific symposium entitled (The Role of Sports in Alleviating Hyperactivity and Attention Deficit in Children) At Al-Nakheel Primary Mixed School, which was organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports\/Department of Studies and Development of Youth Staff and Leaders\/Department of the National Sports Observatory.<\/span><\/h4>\n

The symposium included several topics, including the concept of hyperactivity, which is one of the neurodevelopment disorders resulting from a deficiency in the amount of the chemical transmitters dopamine and norepinephrine in the cortex of the anterior part of the frontal lobe, which facilitates the cells to carry out their work and communicate between the limbs of the brain, stressing that the causes of hyperactivity in children are sometimes born result of genetic, biological and environmental factors, and its symptoms and manifestations include hyperactivity, lack of self-confidence, excessive talk without meaning, and failure to listen to the teacher and parents.<\/span><\/h4>\n

In addition to the focus of the most important methods of treating hyperactivity, which are drug, behavioral and motor therapy, play and exercise in order to increase self-confidence, reduce stress and cooperation among students.<\/span><\/h4>\n

This event is consistent with the fourth and seventeenth goals of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, which relate to ensuring the provision of high-quality education and equal learning opportunities for all and establishing partnerships between local institutions to achieve the goals.<\/span><\/h4>\n
