The Studies and Planning Division at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Girls, University of Baghdad, in cooperation and coordination with the Scientific Affairs Unit, organized a workshop entitled (What do we do to eliminate human trafficking), which delivered by the head of the Individual Games Branch, Asst. Prof. Dr. Abeer Dakhel Al-Sulami, and the lecturer, Lect. Dr. Liqa Abdul Zahra.<\/span><\/h4>\n

The two teachers explained the concept of human trafficking as the exploitation of individuals through force, threats, fraud or economic exploitation with the aim of obtaining forced labor or sexual services or using them for other purposes illegally and without their consent.<\/span><\/h4>\n

They stressed that its goal is to obtain profits at the expense of the freedom and dignity of the victims.<\/span><\/h4>\n

Its forms are also classified into forced labor trafficking, sex trafficking, human organ trafficking, child trafficking, and marriage trafficking.<\/span><\/h4>\n

They highlighted the most important causes and factors that contribute to the occurrence of trafficking in persons, which are poverty, economic hardship, lack of job opportunities, conflicts and wars, social and cultural conditions, illegal immigration, and at the same time they highlighted the effects of trafficking on people and societies, the destruction of personal life, physical and health harm, Legal exclusion, economic impacts, social and cultural damage.<\/span><\/h4>\n

They also referred to the most important international legislation prohibiting trafficking, which are labor legislation, international crimes, and national programs and initiatives.<\/span><\/h4>\n

This workshop achieves one of the sustainable development goals represented by the fourth goal: quality education.<\/span><\/h4>\n
