The Faculty of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Girls University of Baghdad witnessed the discussion of the master’s thesis titled (Historical analytical study of the Iraqi Special Olympics for Mental Disability in power games (2000-2021) for the student (Saja Sabah Hadi) under the supervision of the teacher in the branch of theoretical sciences Dr. Zainab Ali Abdul Amir.<\/span><\/h4>\n

The study aimed to identify the emergence of Power games for people with mental disabilities in Iraq since the establishment of the Special Olympics Federation for the period (2000-2021), as well as to identify the development of athletics events for people with mental disabilities, especially their participation in the world and regional championships and games for the above-mentioned period, archiving the names and preparation of the administrative staff who supervised the management and training of players with mental disabilities, archiving the names and preparation of players with mental disabilities in each of the athletics events since (2000-2021), identifying\u00a0 Achievements of athletics players with mental disabilities, analysis and criticism of the reasons that hinder the development of the athletic level and digital achievement of athletics players with disabilities in tournaments and games of global and regional during the time scale of the research sample.<\/span><\/h4>\n

The researcher concluded through her study that there are no local championships, but only festivals at varying times, mostly in the Special Olympics Hall, due to the lack of clubs affiliated with the Olympic Federation, noting the lack of participation of the Federation in the World Winter Games, due to the lack of provision of the necessary supplies for training and creating an atmosphere similar to the atmosphere of winter competitions of snow and others, in addition to the fact that regional and international participations were not documented during the above period.<\/span><\/h4>\n

The student also recommended the expansion of the archiving of sports games that concern all persons with disabilities, whether intellectual or motor disabilities, the need to pay attention to the infrastructure of the Special Olympics Federation by relying on an effective methodology in the training and classification of administrative officials and coaches, urging students to historical research that helps to predict the future and study the development of the Games and the compilation of sports heritage.<\/span><\/h4>\n

After discussing her thesis, the committee recommended that she be awarded a master’s degree in physical education.<\/span><\/h4>\n
