The Scientific Affairs Unit at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Girls, University of Baghdad, held a scientific symposium entitled (Bullying: Causes, Types and Impact on the Individual and Society), presented by a member in the Department of Theoretical Sciences, Lect. Rasha Walid.<\/span><\/h4>\n

Ms Rasha explained the concept of bullying as repeated aggressive behaviour that aims to harm another person intentionally. This aggression may be physical or psychological, including some behaviors such as name-calling, verbal or written abuse, exclusion from activities or social occasions, physical abuse, coercion, explaining the reasons for the party bullying others are to draw the attention of others to him\/her, appear as a strong and tough person, the desire to lead, self-love and jealousy.<\/span><\/h4>\n

Its types were also classified into verbal, physical or physical bullying; social, sexual, personal, and emotional relationships; electronic, psychological, school, workplace, family, political, and against women.<\/span><\/h4>\n

She pointed out the most important causes of this, which are personality disorders and low self-esteem, addiction to some aggressive behaviors, some psychological illnesses and depression, family disintegration, the widening gap between the social and material classes in society, the spread of electronic games that encourage violence, the absence of the role of the educational institution in evaluating students and positively raising them, and the absence of religious and moral awareness. This scientific activity is consistent with the fourth goal of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, which is related to ensuring the provision of high-quality education and equal learning opportunities for all.<\/span><\/h4>\n
