The teacher in the Individual Games Branch in the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Girls, University of Baghdad, Assistant Professor Dr. Eman Sabih Hussein, represented our college in the discussion panel entitled (Women’s sport between the challenges of reality and the ambition of the future), which was organized by the Women’s Empowerment Department in the Ministry of Youth and Sports in cooperation with the Iraqi Media Network, in the presence of Advisor to the Prime Minister for Women’s Affairs, Ala Talabani, and a number of sports personalities.<\/span><\/h4>\n

The panel discussed several axes concerned with women’s sports, including Dr. Iman’s axis, which deals with how to create a law that protects women from bullying when practicing sports, through the application of Paragraph (36) of the Iraqi Constitution Law, as well as her emphasis on caring for the female component in the field of sports management by putting them in internal and external courses to take advantage of expertise and experiences for the purpose of developing professional and physical skills, as well as discussing other axes by sports specialists, including school and university sports, sports for talented women, sports for people with disabilities and special needs, women’s rights in assuming sports positions, the role of government support in advancing women’s sports, challenges Which confronts women’s sports, starting from school, university and government institutions, all the way to the sport of achievement.<\/span><\/h4>\n

The seminar concluded with a set of recommendations, the most important of which is emphasizing the need for state support and genuine sponsorship of women’s sports, as they play a very important role in self-realization, enhancing self-confidence, and actively contributing to peaceful coexistence and achieving sustainable development goals.<\/span><\/h4>\n

Emphasis on holding more workshops and panel discussions in this field with the aim of reaching a strategy for the development of women’s sports that is truly implemented on the ground.<\/span><\/h4>\n
