The Scientific Affairs Unit at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Girls, University of Baghdad, held a scientific seminar entitled (Drugs and their Legal Adaptation), presented by the two members of the Theoretical Sciences Department, Lect. Rasha Walid Taha and Asst. Left. Nour Ali Kazim.<\/span><\/h4>\n

The seminar dealt with two axes, the first of which was presented by Ms. Rasha on defining the concept of drugs, their types, symptoms, and the approved means of prevention.<\/span><\/h4>\n

Ms. Nour presented the second axis in the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Law No. (50) of (2017), the nature of its types and penalties, and the difference between drug use, possession, and trade.<\/span><\/h4>\n

The seminar concluded with the presentation of a set of recommendations, the most important of which is enhancing awareness of the dangers of drugs through the media and schools, establishing rehabilitation and support centres for people with an addiction who wish to receive treatment, tightening border controls to prevent drug smuggling operations, and activating penalties on promoters and dealers to ensure deterrence.<\/span><\/h4>\n

This symposium achieves one of the Sustainable Development Goals, the fourth goal: quality education.<\/span><\/h4>\n
