The Scientific Affairs Unit at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Girls, University of Baghdad, held a scientific seminar entitled (Requirements of Good Education as a Goal of Sustainable Development Goals), presented by the Assistant Dean for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Prof. Dr. Aseel Jalil Katea.<\/span><\/h4>\n

Dr Aseel explained the most important basic pillars required for good education, which are ensuring the availability of good teachers, quality learning tools for professional development, and creating a high-quality, safe and supportive educational environment for the activity that aims to prepare new skills and knowledge.<\/span><\/h4>\n

She pointed out how good learning is achieved by changing behaviours, values, ideas and directions and that the change brought about by learning is not temporary but continues throughout life.<\/span><\/h4>\n

She also explained the most important factors affecting good learning, including the characteristics of the learner (trainee), teacher behaviour, and the school training environment.<\/span><\/h4>\n

She also touched on the concept of sustainable development in education as providing high-quality educational opportunities for all, as well as achieving comprehensive development, promoting equality, social justice, environmental awareness, and preserving natural resources and the environment, in addition to enhancing the skills and knowledge necessary for life and work in the future and enhancing the capabilities of innovation, critical thinking, and self-learning.<\/span><\/h4>\n

She mentioned the most important challenges facing achieving sustainable development through education, including the lack of sufficient funding to develop sustainable education programs, a shortage of educational and technical resources in some societies, and the lack of a strong educational infrastructure that supports sustainable education. She noted that the most important solutions to achieve them are enhancing funding for sustainable education projects, providing the necessary resources to develop the educational infrastructure, and enhancing international cooperation to exchange knowledge and expertise in the field of education to achieve sustainable development.<\/span><\/h4>\n

This symposium achieves one of the goals of sustainable development, represented by the fourth goal of quality education.<\/span><\/h4>\n
