The Scientific Affairs Unit at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Girls, University of Baghdad, held a scientific seminar entitled (Psychological Preparation and its Importance during Sports Competitions), presented by the member of Individual Games Department, Lect. Dr Hind Salem Tayeh.<\/span><\/h4>\n

Dr. Hind explained the concept of psychological preparation, which is an educational process within the scope of positive practice for players to create and develop motivation, self-confidence, cognitive and emotional awareness, and working to form and develop voluntary traits, in addition to educational and psychological guidance and counseling for players.<\/span><\/h4>\n

She classified the types of psychological preparation into two types, the first of which is long-term psychological preparation, and the second is short-term psychological preparation.<\/span><\/h4>\n

She also stressed a close relationship between psychological preparation and all aspects of training, such that the coach cannot abandon it and can be limited to four basic elements represented by the physical, skill, planning, and psychological aspects.<\/span><\/h4>\n

The lecture concluded with a set of recommendations, the most important of which is the necessity for the trainer to be familiar with the method of dealing and communicating with athletes and knowing the psychological state of the athletes before, during, and after the competition, choosing trainers with certificates, experience, expertise and competence, and the necessity of paying attention to the rational and human aspect in the training process.<\/span><\/h4>\n

This lecture achieves one of the goals of sustainable development, represented by the fourth goal, quality education.<\/span><\/h4>\n
