Under the patronage of the Dean, Prof. Dr Fatima Abd Malih, the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Girls at the University of Baghdad hosted a delegation from the Youth Culture and Arts Department of the Ministry of Youth and Sports to conduct a workshop for students titled \u201cLearning the Art of Drawing and Calligraphy.\u201d<\/span><\/h4>\n

The workshop focused on three main topics presented by the Ministry\u2019s delegation. The first topic, delivered by Mr. Ziad Abdul Karim, covered Arabic calligraphy, explaining its concept as an art form based on letter design. He highlighted its various styles, including Thuluth, Diwani, Naskh, Ruq\u2018ah, Persian, Kufic, and Ijaza, along with a demonstration of the special paper used for artistic drawing.<\/span><\/h4>\n

The second topic was presented by Ms. Riam Nizar Mousa, who focused on the fundamentals of drawing, discussing aspects such as vertical and horizontal lines and the relationship between shading and artistic composition.<\/span><\/h4>\n

The third topic was led by Mr Fouad Wahid Naama, who provided a detailed explanation of the steps and components of drawing, starting with dotting techniques and geometric shapes such as circles and squares.<\/span><\/h4>\n

In her speech, Dean Dr. Fatima emphasised the essential role of drawing as a medium for psychological expression and intellectual inspiration, allowing individuals to perceive reality creatively. She expressed her gratitude for the Ministry\u2019s delegation\u2019s valuable efforts in organising this educational workshop, considering it a great opportunity for students to develop their artistic talents and hobbies by participating in various creative and sports activities. She also extended her best wishes for success and prosperity in serving Iraq.<\/span><\/h4>\n

This workshop contributes effectively to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education), while also supporting Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by fostering collaborations to achieve shared objectives.<\/span><\/h4>\n
