The Women\u2019s Affairs Unit at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Women, University of Baghdad, held a workshop titled (Family Leadership in Society). The session was presented by faculty members from the Individual Games Department, Prof. Dr. Zina Abdul Salam and Asst.Lect. Ghufran Basheer Hamzah.<\/span><\/h4>\n

The two speakers discussed family leadership, which focuses on positive influence and guiding family members to achieve shared goals and build healthy, sustainable relationships by adopting sound values and principles. They outlined effective foundations for family leadership, including mutual respect and trust as the basis for healthy family relationships, effective positive communication as a bridge for understanding and strengthening bonds, the importance of setting shared goals to direct the family\u2019s efforts, and the fair distribution of responsibilities to ensure everyone\u2019s participation.<\/span><\/h4>\n

The workshop also highlighted key skills for effective family communication, such as active listening, expressing emotions and thoughts, and using positive language. Steps for problem-solving and decision-making within the family were presented, including identifying the problem, analyzing it, gathering relevant data and information, proposing alternative solutions and evaluating them, and then making and implementing the appropriate decision.<\/span><\/h4>\n

Additionally, the session addressed major challenges facing family leadership in today\u2019s society, such as the pressures of life and work, the impact of long working hours and professional stress, and the influence of technology, social media, and shifting values.<\/span><\/h4>\n

The workshop concluded with recommendations emphasizing the importance of applying family leadership principles, building strong and cohesive families, and the need for continuous education and development.<\/span><\/h4>\n

This workshop contributes to achieving one of the Sustainable Development Goals\u2014Goal 4, which focuses on quality education.<\/span><\/h4>\n
