On Wednesday, August 20, 2025, the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Women \u2013 University of Baghdad held its second annual scientific student conference to discuss postgraduate Review research for master\u2019s and doctoral students. The event was held under the patronage of the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Fatima Abd Malih, and supervised by the Assistant Dean for Scientific and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Suhad Haseeb Abdul-Hamid.<\/span><\/h4>\n

The conference opened with a recitation of Al-Fatiha in memory of Iraq\u2019s martyrs. This was followed by a speech from the Dean, who emphasised the importance of research review as a valuable contribution to scientific knowledge and the necessity of examining and benefiting from previous studies. Remarks from the Assistant Dean for Scientific and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Suhad Haseeb Abdul-Hamid, followed this. The event also witnessed the presence of several faculty members.<\/span><\/h4>\n

The conference aimed to highlight the scientific contributions of postgraduate students in advancing the fields of physical education and sports sciences, promote rigorous research and foster a culture of innovation, enhance students\u2019 skills in academic presentation and discussion, provide a platform for networking and knowledge exchange between researchers and faculty members, and guide research toward serving society with practical, applicable solutions.<\/span><\/h4>\n

Conference sessions covered various topics, including physical education and sports psychology, physical fitness and exercise physiology, management and organisation in sports institutions, modern technologies and innovative applications in sports, rehabilitation, and mental health. Thirty-five research papers from master\u2019s and doctoral students were presented.<\/span><\/h4>\n

The conference concluded with several recommendations, such as forming a follow-up committee to monitor the implementation and impact of the recommendations within 6\u201312 months, preparing a summary report outlining achievements, challenges, and lessons learned, and setting a future action plan. Other recommendations included enhancing research quality standards in physical education, applying appropriate statistical analyses, and encouraging research on social and health issues related to physical activity and public health for children, youth, older adults, and people with special needs.<\/span><\/h4>\n

In closing, the Assistant Dean reaffirmed the college\u2019s commitment to providing a supportive educational environment through academic advising programs, professional development workshops, and funding opportunities for research at both national and international levels.<\/span><\/h4>\n
