The Scientific Affairs Division at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Women, University of Baghdad, organized a scientific workshop titled “Electronic Addiction: Causes and Risks.” The sessions were presented by Dr. Zahraa Ahmed Shaker, Dr. Zubaida Salah Hadi, and Ms. Diana Ghanem Yahya.<\/span><\/h4>\n

The workshop addressed the concept of electronic addiction as a contemporary behavioral challenge, particularly given the widespread prevalence of smart devices, social media platforms, and electronic gaming, and the potential psychological, physical, and behavioral effects of excessive use.<\/span><\/h4>\n

The presenters provided an explanation of the primary indicators of electronic addiction, such as sleep disorders, loss of focus, social isolation, and decreased productivity. Furthermore, they reviewed the latest scientific studies regarding the impact of technology on behavior and public health.<\/span><\/h4>\n

The workshop emphasized the importance of fostering a culture of moderated technology use and strengthening the role of families and educational institutions in educating individuals on setting time limits for electronic device usage, alongside supporting programs aimed at promoting digital health.<\/span><\/h4>\n

The workshop concluded with an interactive discussion session where participants shared their inquiries and daily experiences, affirming the significance of continuing such scientific activities that contribute to raising awareness within the university community.<\/span><\/h4>\n

This workshop achieves two of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and Goal 4 (Quality Education).<\/span><\/h4>\n
