The teacher in the team games branch in the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Girls, University of Baghdad, Asst. Prof. Saja Shukr Yas, held a qualitative lecture for undergraduate students, entitled (Methods and Trends of High Achievement Training).

Dr. Saja confirmed that the selection of the training method must be commensurate with the level of the individual’s training status, and be based on the characteristics and requirements of the sports activity, and that it achieves the direct purpose of the training unit for it, referring to its nine methods represented by the station training method, the plyometric training method, and physical exercises. With weights, the compound training method and its forms include the general, qualitative and competitive training form, ballistic training and it has three main stages, which is the first stage and is done by muscle contraction by shortening, which begins with movement, and the second stage is the stage of decline or descent that depends on the wheel the amount of movement, and the third stage is a competition stage Speed ​​accompanied by muscle contraction by lengthening, the method of fartlek training or playing with speed, divergent training, the hierarchical training method, transverse training.

As it clarified the most important modern trends for training, which are the sharp increase in training volumes, the increase in the specialized trend, the increase in the volume of competition training, the increase in symmetry between training and competition conditions, the spread of the use of non-traditional means, training on the nature of the competitive performance style, the development of training systems in the light of individual differences.
