The teacher in the individual games branch in the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Girls, University of Baghdad, Dr. prof. Mona Talib Al-Badri, a scientific workshop for undergraduate students entitled (Treatment with Kegel exercises).
As Dr. Al-Badri explained the concept of Kegel exercises, also called pelvic floor exercises, which are exercises used to strengthen the pelvic floor muscles, as they help strengthen the muscles of the uterus, bladder and intestines, and benefit men and women who have problems related to urinary incontinence or controlling bowel conditions, where it can be practiced at any time, while sitting or lying down, while eating, sitting at a desk, driving or watching TV.
It also showed how to practice it for beginners: identifying the muscles that need to be strengthened, to determine the muscles of the pelvic floor, the exercises can be done at any time, but it is recommended to start practicing them in the state of lying down, the muscles to be strengthened must be joined (tensioned) for three seconds (or counting to 8 ) Then relax for three seconds as well, maintain focus on performing the exercise while doing it to get the best results, avoid bending or tightening the abdominal muscles, thighs or buttocks and breathe freely during the exercise, it is recommended to repeat the exercise 10 times a day (in the morning, and at noon, and at night), it is advised to avoid practicing Kegel exercises to start or end the urination process, as some doctors believe that this can lead to causing a bacterial infection in the bladder, it is advised not to exaggerate the practice of Kegel exercises in women.
