The Scout Troop at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Girls, University of Baghdad, under the supervision of Lect. Dr. Nibal Karim Ahmed, participated in the Siblings Festival for Various Hobbies and Crafts in its (20th) session, which was organized by the Ministry of Culture, and was inaugurated by the Undersecretary of the Ministry, Mr. Qasim Al-Sudani, under the slogan (Let us shout loudly for civilization and Peace Baghdad), which continues for three days, starting on November 29, 2023, at the International Railway Station of Iraq, as this festival is considered a cultural, heritage and tourism event and an important evidence of the continuity and revival of cultural life in all cities of Iraq.
Our college’s participation was represented by holding a bazaar for handicrafts, such as glass painting and clothing designs, as well as reviewing the curricula of the scouting subject, starting from how to perform the salute to the fire and knot ceremonies.
For their part, those attending the festival expressed their admiration for the activities of the Scout Troop, wishing them continued success, and insisting on them participating in all activities and events, whether sports, cultural or artistic.
In a related development, the Dean of the College of Prof. Dr. Fatima Abd Maleh met with the Scout Troop after they returned from participation, expressing her happiness and delight in their pioneering achievements, which are considered success stories for Iraqi women.
This participation achieves one of the sustainable development goals represented by the fourth goal, quality education, and the tenth goal, reducing inequalities.
