The Scientific Affairs Unit in the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Girls organized the University of Baghdad under the supervision of its Dean, Prof. Dr. Fatima Abd Maleh, in cooperation and coordination with a delegation from the Ministry of Planning / Central Agency for Standardization and Quality Control / Presidency of the Agency / Directorate of Patents and Industrial Designs. Each of the Administrative Director, Dr. Naeem Ahmed Ismail and the senior chemist, Mr. Abdul Rahman Ismail and the legal advisors, Alaa Akram Abbas, presented a qualitative workshop entitled (Mechanism for filing patent applications).

The workshop included the presentation of two lectures, the first by the Administrative Director, Dr. Naim Ahmed, entitled (Intellectual Property Laws), explaining that intellectual property is the creations of the human mind from inventions and works of various specializations, including brand names (LOGO), and it is also an intellectual creativity that leads to the invention of a device, Medicine, engineering designs, etc., and the property operates with three systems, which are a four-in-one model or system, a three-in-one system, a separate management model, and registration is carried out in it according to the priority of submitting the application, announcing that an international day has been approved to celebrate intellectual property.

The second lecture was presented by a senior chemist, Mr. Abdul Rahman Ismail, entitled (The mechanism for submitting a patent application according to the conditions approved by the Directorate of Patents and Industrial Designs), explaining what the patent is, which is the certificate indicating the registration of the invention, indicating how to grant the patent according to Article (1_2). ) From Instructions No. (8) for the year (2000) of the Patent Law, which requires novelty, innovative step, non-obviousness, industrial applicability, providing a detailed summary of the content and steps of the patent, starting with submitting the application in Arabic and English, professional and personal information, leading to the solution, noting At the same time, for patents that are not granted a patent, such as patents that exploit breaches of public morals and public order, the methods and means used in banking, financial and accounting issues, building maps and stereoscopic drawings.

At the end of the workshop, the Associate Dean for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies, Dr. Suhad Hasib, gave the lecturers letters of thanks and appreciation, appreciating their efforts and active contribution in holding such workshops that explain how patents work and deposit them with the central apparatus, wishing them continued success in their work in service of our beloved Iraq.A
