The head of the rehabilitation, employment and follow-up unit at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Girls, University of Baghdad, Asst. Prof. Ishraq Ghaleb Odeh hosted a lecturer at the College of Basic Education, Al-Mustansiriya University, Prof. Mustafa Hassan Abdel Karim, to hold a rehabilitation workshop for undergraduate students entitled (Training juniors for games sports).
Dr. Mustafa explained some of the basic concepts that must be understood before working on training youth, such as (growth, maturity, and development), indicating the most important sciences related to training youth, such as anatomy, sports psychology, sports medicine, biomechanics, learning, motor development, and nutrition science.
He pointed out the most important physical qualities that young people should have during the growth stage, which are flexibility, agility, speed, strength, ability, and endurance. He pointed out the gradualness and control of the degree of load according to the training plan, which starts from the easiest to the difficult, from the simple to the complex, and from the near to the far, from the unknown to the known, in addition to his methods for changing the speed of performance and changing his difficulty as well, as well as changing his paths when running and obstacles, through repetitions by increasing the number of training periods, intensity by increasing the load, and time by increasing continuity.
This workshop achieves the sustainable development goals represented by the fourth goal of quality education and the seventeenth goal: establishing partnerships to achieve the goals.
