The lecturer in the Theoretical Sciences Branch at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Girls, University of Baghdad, Asst. Lect. Noor Riyadh, held a workshop for undergraduate students entitled (Sports Interviews and Communication).
Ms. Noor explained the importance of interviews and their impact in the world of sports, noting that interviews are an integral part of communication in the sports environment, as they differ from ordinary dialogues because they are directed towards a specific goal that seeks to collect specific information that can be used in research, guidance, diagnosis, and treatment. noting their effective role in building relationships between athletes and the audience and enhancing the audience’s understanding of the game through questions about tactics and physical preparations. It is recommended to enhance the English language skills of student and athletes, especially with regard to sports terminology and expressions, to improve their ability to communicate internationally, conduct interviews, and deal with the media effectively, with a focus on using linguistic and communicative skills.
This workshop is one of the sustainable development goals represented by the fourth goal: quality education.
