The Rehabilitation, Employment, and Follow-up Unit at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Girls, University of Baghdad, held a qualifying workshop entitled (Ethics of the Journalism Profession), in which the head of the Media and Government Communication Division, Asst. Lect. Ibtihal Jassim Rasheed delivered it.
Ms. Ibtihal showed the concept of the ethics of the profession of journalism is the concept of the profession of journalism, it is the group of rules related to the professional behavior, which was placed by the profession of all its members, as these rules are determined and the application of it, including collective ethics, complete or incomplete answers to legislation and its implementation by judges, referring to the ethics of media work in the journalism profession, the most important of which is ethical thinking, ethical charters, and principles that include responsibility, freedom of the media and journalism, independence, credibility, honesty, accuracy, non-bias, and preserving the rights of others.
She also pointed out the most important responsibilities that fall on the media, which is a media responsibility towards the general and local community and itself.
The workshop concluded with a set of recommendations to confirm the media or the journalist to be a manner of work, which must be an intense courses of all the media institutions to learn the employees of the work of sending information and councils that are working as an ethical control of the media.
This workshop achieves one of the sustainable development goals represented by the fourth goal: quality education.
