The Studies and Planning Division at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Girls, University of Baghdad, in cooperation and coordination with the Scientific Affairs Unit, organized a workshop entitled (The Phenomenon of Depravity and Homosexuality), delivered by the lecturer in the Individual Games Branch, Lect. Dr. Liqa’a Abdul Zahra.
Dr. Liqa’a explained the concept of homosexuality, which is one of the forms of homosexuality, which includes the presence of romantic feelings and sexual attraction to individuals of the same sex and the desire to have sex with them. The reasons for practicing homosexuality are due to biological, environmental, social and hormonal reasons.
She also pointed out the most important behaviors that indicate a gay person, including: excessive interest in members of the same sex, engaging in their gatherings, speaking in a way that resembles women, frequenting gay parties a lot, asking about sexual orientation, wearing feminine clothing by men, touching in an unacceptable manner, and behavior masculinity by women.
She added that psychologists were the first to study and classify this phenomenon as a psychological disorder, in addition to interpreting it according to Freud’s theory as bisexuality.
This workshop achieves one of the sustainable development goals represented by the fourth goal: quality education.
