A teacher in the Theoretical Sciences Branch holds a scouting training course in the Student Activities Department at the University Presidency

 The lecturer in the theoretical sciences branch at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Girls, University of Baghdad, Lect. Dr.. Nibal Karim Abdullah, held a scout training course entitled (Managing and organizing flag raising ceremonies) in cooperation with the Scout Division official in the Student Activities Department at the Presidency of the University of Baghdad, Asst. Lect.. Abdullah. Adnan.

The two teachers explained the importance of science for the state in instilling the patriotic spirit in the hearts of young people, stressing that the leaders should pay attention and care to training the Scouts on how to raise and lower them according to their own traditions.

They also clarified the concept of the state flag, which is the flag that represents the state in all its forums. It flutters at every gathering and is proud of by its people, so that it remains tall and fluttering in the sky. They gave the Arabs great and distinct importance to the flag because it represents a symbol of its strength, pride, and sovereignty.

The two teachers noted that its specifications should be rectangular and its width is two-thirds of its length, divided into three horizontal rectangles of equal dimensions. The color of the upper rectangle is red, the middle is white, and in the middle is the phrase (Allah Akbar), and the bottom is black, and its dimensions are (120 cm x 80 cm), explaining its colors to white, the emblem of the Umayyad state. Black is the emblem of the Abbasid state, green is the emblem of the Fatimid state, and red is the symbol of the Arab Revolution.

They added that one of the most important conditions that must be followed when raising the flag is to prevent movement when raising and lowering it, and that the process of raising it should be slow, and that it should not be less than 10 minutes and not more than 20 minutes, standing on the right of the group, adhering to the scout uniform, and the flag is also raised in scout camps every day after Morning inspection.

This course achieves one of the sustainable development goals, represented by the fourth goal: quality education, and the seventeenth goal: establishing partnerships to achieve the goals
