Training course

The Continuing Education Unit at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Girls at the University of Baghdad held a training course (the most important basics and advance planning for work before and during the filming process and motor analysis in some gymnastic movements and arena and field games activities), in which a group of lecturers from the individual games branch, including prof. Dr. Intisar Kazem, prof. Dr. Huda Shehab, prof. Dr. Zeina Abdel Salam and Asst. Prof. Dr. Iman Sabeih.

The course aimed to determine the effectiveness and movement to be analyzed the skill and determine the strengths and weaknesses in the performance, establish the biomechanics variables to be analyzed in the skill, identify the analysis programs used in analyzing gymnastic movements and the effectiveness of the broad jump, and identify or name the camera, measure some biomechanics variables in Kinetic analysis software (kinovea).

The course concluded by presenting a set of recommendations, the most important of which is the necessity of familiarity with the process of movement analysis, the need for the teacher to be aware of the path and details of the movement or activity, as well as the teacher’s ability to identify the biomechanics variables that determine the course of the movement so that he can judge and evaluate the performance of the movement. The teacher must rely as much as possible on the method of quantitative analysis in evaluating movements and providing programs and devices for movement analysis, such as speed measuring devices, force measuring platforms, and video cameras in order to facilitate the quantitative evaluation process.

This scientific event is consistent with the fourth goal of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, which relates to ensuring the provision of high-quality education and equal learning opportunities for all.
