The College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Girls at the University of Baghdad, under the patronage of its Dean, Professor Dr. Fatima Abd Maleh, and in cooperation and coordination with the Theoretical Sciences Branch and the Research Project Committee, organized the annual student conference for session (67), held under the slogan (through scientific research, we elevate our students).

The conference curriculum included a number of sections, including the entry and parade of the fourth stage students, the playing of the national anthem, followed by the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, and then standing to read Surat Al-Fatihah, out of mercy for the souls of our righteous martyrs, in addition to handing over the flag to the next stage, cutting the graduation cake.

Dr. Fatima gave a speech on this occasion, explaining the importance of research as a turning point in your scientific life, because our universities today are competing according to international standards and classifications represented by the quality of the outputs and the sobriety and quality of scientific research in the service of society in order to meet the labor market to achieve sustainable development goals that aim to improve the quality of research and education in general.

Then, the Assistant Dean for Scientific and Student Affairs gave her speech, noting that our students have proven today that our efforts have not been wasted by completing your academic career with all success and excellence, offering a salute to them and their families for their efforts in sending their children throughout the years of study, in addition to offering congratulations to the members of the teaching staff for their annual preparation of distinguished batches of graduates of physical education teachers.

The head of the research project committee, Dr. Widad Kazem gave a speech on this occasion, stressing the extent of the students’ commitment to the steps of scientific research methods and their application in theoretical and field research that addresses a modern research problem that produces results and recommendations that serve the labor market and society.

It is worth noting that the aim of the conference is to crystallize the efforts and endeavors of the college to provide a scientific environment that makes the student the main focus of the educational process, clarify concepts and human values, support the student and highlight her personality, a scientific educational experience through which the student participates with her colleagues, studies problems in experiences and experiences, and finds solutions in the field of Physical and sports sciences education, developing the creativity and leadership energies of female students in a practical and realistic way and encouraging them to take initiative and expression, developing the spirit of competition among students and preparing leaders who have knowledge in research and adopt the scientific method in thinking about their work, developing the student’s ability to deliver and discuss according to correct scientific methods.

This scientific event is consistent with the fourth goal of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, which relates to ensuring the provision of high-quality education and equal learning opportunities for all.
