The Information Technology Unit at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Girls, University of Baghdad, organized a special workshop for teachers entitled (The Digital Repository of the University of Baghdad), presented by the Information Technology Unit official and the website administrator, the programmer Riyam Abdel Karim.
The website administrator explained the concept of the digital repository of the University of Baghdad, which is an electronic storehouse that contains research, scientific publications, CVs, and scientific lectures by university professors and researchers affiliated with it. Its goal is to preserve and document these scientific contributions to facilitate access to them and exchange them at the local and global levels, especially since the goal of its establishment is to preserve the production of scientific research, promoting open access, and supporting scientific research and statistics.
She ponted out its advantages in linking its program with a number of international systems and repositories such as (scopus, web of science, crossref, orcid, dimensions al, plumx).
The digital repository was divided into several sections, namely (Profile), Publications, and (Authors), noting at the same time the requirements for participation in it through agreeing to the terms, providing digital content, adopting metadata, and legal and ethical discipline.
Ms. Riyam also explained the most important services available in the digital repository, namely search and review, digital publishing, downloading and usage, and statistics.
The workshop is consistent with the fourth goal of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, which stipulates ensuring the availability of quality education, which includes life-long learning opportunities for all.
