The Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Girls, University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Fatima Abd Maleh, participated in the first international scientific conference on sports sciences, which was held by the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, University of Anbar, in cooperation with its counterpart colleges such as Samarra University and Al-Maarif private college, under the slogan (Physical Education and Sports Sciences is a Way of Life) for the period (28-29/8/2024), under the patronage of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Yasser Al-Aboudi, and the presidents of both Anbar University, Prof. Dr. Mushtaq Talib Al-Nida and Samarra University, Prof. Dr. Sabah Alawi Khalaf, in the Martyrs Hall at University of Anbar.
The conference focused on discussing ten topics, the most important of which are applications of sports physiology, biomechanics and movement analysis, sports psychology, rehabilitation of sports injuries, motor learning, sports management, sports training, curricula, and teaching methods, tests, and measurements, healthy nutrition and sports for the elderly, in addition to holding a group of practical workshops in the specialty aimed at exchanging ideas and experiences between participants in order to shed light on the latest developments and laws related to sports. In a related context, a meeting of the Deans Committee of Faculties of Physical Education and Sports Sciences in Iraq was held, within the sidelines of the above-mentioned scientific conference, headed by the Chairman of the Deans Committee, Prof. Dr. Sabah Qasim Khalaf, in the presence of all deans of the corresponding faculties in Iraqi universities. The meeting reviewed its paragraphs and discussed them in accordance with the ministerial orders and instructions. In conclusion, the President of Al-Hamdaniya University thanked all the participating deans in appreciation and recognition of their efforts and effective contribution to the success of the conference, as its objectives are aimed at achieving the sustainable development goals aimed at improving the quality of education according to the fourth goal, quality education, and the seventeenth goal, which includes forming partnerships to achieve the goals.
