Baghdad University Female Team Wins Iraqi Universities Badminton Championship 2024, which was held at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Girls, University of Baghdad, under the patronage of its Dean, Prof. Dr. Fatima Abd Maleh, which was organized by the Student Activities Department at the University of Baghdad in cooperation with the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Iraqi University Sports Federation, with the participation of more than 70 public and private universities.

The female students’ team won three times: the first against its counterpart, the University of Technology (2, zero), the second against its counterpart, the University of Diyala (2, zero), and the third against its counterpart, Al-Qasim Green University (2, zero), crowning first place in the championship among all Iraqi universities.

Al-Qasim Green University won second place, and the University of Babylon and Diyala tied for third place.

At the end of the female students’ championship for today, the winning teams were honored with medals and the championship cup, wishing everyone success and further progress and giving in the service of our mother university and our beloved Iraq.

For their part, the organizing body of the championship, the Student Activities Department, represented by Dr. Ali Sadiq Diab, awarded the Excellence Shield to the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Fatima Abd Maleh, and his assistants for scientific and student affairs, Prof. Dr. Suhad Hassib, and administrative affairs, Prof. Dr. Aseel Jalil, and the head of the team games branch, Prof. Dr. Nihad Muhammad Alwan, in appreciation of their efforts and effective contribution to the success of this championship, wishing them continued success and guidance in the service of the scientific and sports process.

This championship achieves one of the sustainable development goals represented by the sixteenth and seventeenth goals of peace, justice, strong institutions, and forming partnerships to achieve the goals.
