As part of the activities of the Global Entrepreneurship Week, the Scientific Affairs Unit at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Girls – University of Baghdad organized an electronic discussion panel via Zoom entitled (The Impact of Small Projects on Community Development), presented by the international trainer Muhammad Ahmed Mahmoud, under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Fatima Abd Maleh, Dean of the College, and under the supervision of Asst. Lect. Diana Ghanem Yahya, Head of the Unit.

The panel discussed the importance of small projects in achieving sustainable development, especially in enhancing economic and social growth, which is related to the goals of sustainable development, especially the first goal: eradicating poverty and the eighth goal (promoting economic growth and decent work for all).

The trainer reviewed the concept of entrepreneurship and the role of small projects in improving the standard of living by providing job opportunities and reducing poverty. He also discussed entrepreneurs’ challenges, such as financing and marketing, and provided practical steps to launch successful small projects, including developing a business plan and managing resources effectively.

The panel witnessed great interaction from the audience, as professors and students participated with their questions and interventions that enriched the discussion. The college administration confirmed that organizing this electronic event aims to expand the circle of participation, provide a learning opportunity, and enhance awareness of leadership’s importance in achieving sustainable development. At the end of the session, the attendees expressed their appreciation for the valuable information presented, and the college confirmed its continuation in organizing such events to support the capabilities of female students and teachers and to enhance their contribution to community development.
