The Continuing Education Unit at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Girls, University of Baghdad, held a training course entitled (Table Tennis Law), presented by the Head of the Individual Games Department, Asst. Prof. Dr. Abeer Dakhel Al-Salmi.
Dr Al-Salmi reviewed the specifications of the court, which is that it should be rectangular, with a length of no less than (14 m), a width of no less than (7 m), and a height of no less than (5 m). It consists of the net itself, its two posts that carry it, its hanging thread, and the clips fixed to the posts in the table. Its ball should be round, with a diameter of (40 mm) and a weight of (2.7 grams).
She also indicated that it is permissible to stop the game to correct a mistake in the system of serving or receiving the stroke or standing at the ends of the table. It is also permissible to request a time-out for one time not exceeding one minute in the individual match, explaining how to win the game in terms of the player or pair who obtains 11 points before the competition. The general referee is responsible for conducting the draw, appointing the match judges, and reviewing hand signals to express serving errors. This course achieves one of the sustainable development goals represented by the fourth goal, quality education.
