The Scientific Affairs Unit at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Girls, University of Baghdad, held a scientific seminar entitled (Pilates Prevention and Reduction of Joint Pain), presented by the member of the Team Games Department, Asst. Lect. Maryam Abdul Jabbar.
Ms. Maryam explained the concept of Pilates exercises, which is a sports system that works to strengthen muscles and improve the flexibility and balance of the body, in addition to its work to reduce stress as well.
She pointed out how to practice Pilates exercises to prevent joint pain, including muscle strengthening, flexibility, balance, coordination, breathing and relaxation exercises.
She also provided a set of tips for beginners in Pilates exercises, such as consulting a doctor, looking for a qualified trainer, starting with simple exercises and practicing them regularly.
This seminar achieves one of the sustainable development goals represented by the fourth goal, quality education.
