The Scientific Affairs Unit at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Girls, University of Baghdad, held a scientific lecture entitled (Personal Growth and Human Development) presented by the members of the Team and theoretical branches, each of Lect. Dr. Baidaa Tariq, Lect. Dr. Raghdaa Fouad, Lect. Rasha Walid, Lect. Ibtihal Jassim and Asst. Lect.. Nour Al-Huda Hamid.
The lecture focused on explaining the difference between the concepts of self-development and human development, as the first is concerned with developing the individual only, while the second is concerned with developing human groups as a whole, how to achieve self-development through the following activities such as reading regularly, learning new things, writing goals, striving to change the daily routine, joining new training courses, and creating a stimulating environment, making mistakes an opportunity for learning, identifying the importance of human development and its goals, the conditions of human development, which include education, training, social and economic freedom, democratic participation, government support, and gender equality, in addition to reviewing the qualities of human development trainers represented by an open mind, general culture, self-confidence, developing personal skills, obtaining the necessary educational qualifications, and being patient. This lecture achieves one of the goals of sustainable development, which is represented by the fourth goal, quality education.
