The College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Girls, University of Baghdad, under the patronage of its Dean, Prof. Dr. Fatima Abd Maleh, hosted the University of Baghdad Badminton Championship for male and female students. This event is a continuation of the second-semester curriculum of the Student Activities Department under the presidency of the university, under the supervision of its Director, Asst. Prof. Dr. Ali Sadiq. The tournament activities will continue for two days (2-3/2/2025) in the indoor hall of our college.

The first day included the activities of the students’ championship, with the participation of 18 colleges from the university’s formations.

The students’ championship ended with the College of Dentistry winning first place and Al-Khwarazmi College of Engineering winning second place.

In conclusion, the Dean of the College awarded the winning team the championship cup and the other participating teams the championship medals in appreciation of their efforts in participating and their endeavor to raise the name of our university high at all local and international levels.

This tournament achieves one of the sustainable development goals represented by the third and seventeenth goals: good health and well-being and partnerships to achieve the goals.
