Dr. Liza Rustam Yaqoub, a faculty member in the Team Sports Branch at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Girls, University of Baghdad, represented Iraq in the General Assembly of the West Asian Wrestling Federation.
She attended the electoral meeting as one of its members, which was held in Erbil with the participation of seven Arab countries: Iraq, Yemen, Lebanon, Iran, Palestine, Syria, and Jordan. Dr. Yaqoub secured her membership in the federation as a female representative, reinforcing the role of women in advancing women’s sports.
This selection aligns with two Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
