The Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Girls at the University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Fatima Abd Malih, along with the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs and Students, Prof. Dr. Suhad Hasib, and the Head of the Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation Division, Lect. Dr. Beda’a Tariq participated in the launch ceremony of the National Programmatic Standards for all Colleges of Physical Education in Iraq. The event was held at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Baghdad.

The ceremony was attended by Dr. Yusra Mohammed Abdullah, Director of the Program Accreditation Department at the Ministry, members of the Council for the Improvement of the Quality of Colleges of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, and the deans of various colleges.

The event was inaugurated with a speech by Prof. Dr. Salah Hadi Al-Fatlawi, Head of the Supervision and Scientific Evaluation Body at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. This was followed by a speech from Prof. Dr. Sabah Qasim Khalaf, the chairman of the Deans’ Committee of Colleges of Physical Education and Sports Sciences in Iraq.

In his speech, Al-Fatlawi highlighted the key standards to be adopted, including curriculum development, teaching and training standards, faculty member qualifications, scientific research,  development standards, assessment and quality assurance measures, criteria for field training, practical application, infrastructure, and equipment.

This participation aligns with one of the Sustainable Development Goals, specifically Goal 17, which focuses on fostering partnerships for the goals.
