The head of the individual games branch in the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Girls, University of Baghdad, Assistant Professor Dr. Abeer Dakhil Al-Salami, held a scientific symposium for undergraduate students entitled (How to live on a healthy lifestyle).
Dr. Al-Salmi explained the concept of a healthy diet, which is meant to eat foods that are beneficial to the body and avoid bad ones for the purpose of obtaining the ideal weight, as it reduces the risk of chronic diseases such as heart and diabetes, emphasizing on eating foods rich in fruits, vegetables, moderate fats and oils, and seafood, and reducing consumption Amounts of salts and sugar, as well as emphasis on drinking water in sufficient quantities for the purpose of maintaining fluids in the body.
Dr. Al-Selmi also explained the difference between diets from one person to another according to the following factors: age, gender, lifestyle, daily physical activity, and type of disease, if any.
She referred to the most important healthy habits to follow a healthy diet to enjoy good physical and mental health, including quitting smoking, taking enough sleep, exercising regularly and in moderation, drinking plenty of water with the addition of lemon and apple cider vinegar for their benefit in diets, reducing salts and sugars to avoid disease Serious, emphasis on adding protein to daily meals.
