Brief Overview of the Division:

The Quality Assurance Division at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for GirlsUniversity of Baghdad, is responsible for creating an appropriate environment for institutional and individual assessment and evaluation among faculty members, their assistants, and staff within the college. The division aims to improve the quality of the educational process, enhance its outcomes, and support the college in its efforts to progress and achieve accreditation.

The division was established in the academic year 2009/2010, after initially being founded as a unit by Prof. Dr. Fatima Abd Malih in 2008. Following its establishment, the division was managed by the following individuals:

  1. Prof. Dr. Najla Abbas Nassif (2009/2010 to 2012/2013)

  2. Assist. Prof. Dr. Enas Salman Ali (2014/2015 to 2016/2017)

  3. Assist. Prof. Dr. Zainab Abdul Amir Ahmed (2017/2018 to 2018/2019)

  4. Assist. Prof. Dr. Wafa Faeq Hammoudi (2017/2018 to 2018/2019)

  5. Assist. Prof. Dr. Nadima Badr Mohammed (2018/2019 to 2019/2020)

  6. Assist. Prof. Dr. Baydaa Tareq Abdul Wahid (2018/2019 to present)

     

    Vision of the Division:

    The division aspires to be a distinguished entity in the field of quality assurance through the continuous development of performance across all departments and programs of the college, in alignment with the college’s mission and goals. This is achieved by adhering to local and international evaluation strategies to meet global quality standards.

    Mission of the Division:

    To support the college in achieving competitive quality by ensuring a high level of quality for all elements of the educational process and its related supporting activities, including research and administrative procedures. This aims to fulfill the needs of society and the demands of the labor market in accordance with national standards.

    Tasks and Objectives of the Division:

    1. Documenting the vision, mission, and strategic objectives of the college.

    2. Promoting a culture of quality and its concepts among faculty members, students, and staff within the college.

    3. Establishing an electronic database of the college’s human and material resources to aid in policy-making and improvement planning.

    4. Collaborating with the college’s administration and all departments and administrative units to prepare the college for accreditation.

    5. Adopting recognized academic standards for the programs offered by the college and ensuring their achievement.

    6. Overseeing the preparation and documentation of the college’s programs and courses.

    7. Engaging with relevant stakeholders involved in performance evaluation and quality assurance through the college’s administration and the University of Baghdad’s Quality Assurance and University Performance Division.

    8. Monitoring the college’s semester activities, such as staff participation in exhibitions, conferences, cultural festivals, seminars, and training courses, and submitting these activities to the university for publication on the college and university websites.

    9. Monitoring the work of committees that serve the Quality Assurance and University Performance Division (e.g., the Course Content Update Committee, the College Website Update Committee, etc.).

    10. Participating in seminars, conferences, and courses related to university performance evaluation.

    11. Disseminating assessment files from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, including the institutional performance evaluation file, leadership performance evaluation file, faculty performance evaluation file, employee performance evaluation file, and self-evaluation file, and ensuring accurate information is gathered and unified.

    12. Submitting the completed assessment files on time.

    13. Fostering a culture of scientific exchange between the college’s departments and establishing collaborative relationships with peer institutions through conferences, festivals, seminars, and exhibitions.

    14. Supervising the college’s laboratories to ensure their compliance with national standards for Good Laboratory Practice (GLP).

    15. Completing the division’s annual operational plan.

    16. Preparing the college’s annual performance quality file (institutional performance of the college).

    17. Preparing the annual qualitative metrics and quantitative indicators file.

    18. Preparing the annual academic program description file.

    19. Preparing the annual self-evaluation report.

    20. Preparing the annual national classification file for Iraqi universities.

    21. Coding the academic courses annually.

    22. Completing annual evaluation surveys (student evaluation of faculty, student satisfaction with the educational process, and faculty satisfaction with the educational process).

    23. Conducting analytical studies related to all academic and administrative aspects of the college and regularly developing continuous improvement plans and monitoring their implementation.

    24. Monitoring the Google Scholar profiles of faculty members and encouraging them to activate and update their profiles with scientific activities.
