Overview of the College Library

The Library Division at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Girls, University of Baghdad, is one of the most important university libraries specializing in sports sciences. It provides services to faculty members, graduate students, and researchers.

Vision:
The Library Division aims to provide books, theses, dissertations, references, and various types of journals to offer faculty, students, and researchers the opportunity to access the latest scientific research and experiences.

 

Mission

Encouraging graduate students to pursue scientific research and providing them with access to modern knowledge resources that foster excellence in all educational fields, enabling them to innovate in scientific research.

 

Library Objectives

The main objectives of the library include:

  1. Facilitating access to references, books, journals, and other materials relevant to study fields, training, and scientific research requirements.

  2. Providing the latest references and books in both Arabic and foreign languages, and ensuring connectivity with relevant databases and information through the international information exchange network.

  3. Cataloging: This involves receiving books, registering them, affixing a special stamp on each book, and then classifying them according to the Dewey Decimal System.

  4. Loan Services: Meeting the requests of library patrons, including graduate students, researchers, and faculty members.

  5. Updating catalogs, demographics, and indexes.

  6. Converting theses and dissertations that have been defended into CD format.

  7. Activating the exchange process by donating books, theses, and dissertations to specialized university libraries.
