In a step that reflects the culture of institutional appreciation, Professor Dr. Fatima Abid Maleh, Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Girls at the University of Baghdad, honored the Quality Assurance Division and the committees in charge of following up on the accreditation file (the Programmatic Accreditation Committee, the Improvement Committee, and the Compliance Committee), in recognition of their pivotal role in achieving programmatic accreditation. This is considered a first-of-its-kind historical achievement in the college’s history, following years of continuous work and strenuous efforts. The honoring ceremony was attended by members of the faculty.
For her part, the Head of the Quality Assurance Division, Assistant Professor Dr. Sura Ahmed Saleh, presented an shield of appreciation to the Dean of the College, in gratitude for her unlimited support and diligent follow-up, which was the most important factor in overcoming obstacles and challenges, leading to this historical achievement in a record time of less than a year.
During her speech, Dr. Fatima Abid Maleh emphasized that this success was not a coincidence, but rather the fruit of tight strategic planning, strict commitment to academic quality standards, and a fast and effective response to the requirements of the ministerial delegation. This enabled the college to achieve programmatic accreditation despite the complexities of previous stages and the difficulty of requirements. She praised the efforts of the Quality Assurance Division and the assigned committees, stressing that this honoring reflects a successful model of institutional partnership and dedication to work that elevates academic development.
The honoring ceremony concluded with the Dean’s recommendation on the necessity of accelerating registration in the Association of Arab Universities portal and the academic platforms required by the Ministry, in preparation for completing the journey of excellence and reaching full accreditation as soon as possible.
It is worth noting that this achievement aligns with the fourth goal of the Sustainable Development Goals (Quality Education), as it consolidates the principle of comprehensive quality in the educational process, enhances the role of academic institutions in building a conscious and advanced society, and places the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Girls among the programmatically accredited colleges locally and internationally.
