A teacher in the Theoretical Sciences Branch in the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Girls, University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Warda Ali Abbas, held a scientific symposium for undergraduate students entitled (Scientific Steps for Building Skill Tests).
Dr. Warda mentioned the objectives of the skill and functional tests are to measure the level of the player, to determine their strengths and weaknesses and the level of their progress in the game, to classify the players in groups, to predict their performance in the future, to measure the main aspects of the skill or the game, to detect individual differences between the players, whether they are distinguished or less distinguished, identify areas of development for educational and training curricula and programs.
Classified steps for building and preparing tests to indicate the importance of testing or measurement and the need for it, indicating the purpose of the test, indicating the areas of temporal, spatial and human tests, indicating work methods and identifying auxiliary staff, conducting an exploratory experiment, ensuring the coefficient of honesty, stability and objectivity, formulating the test taking into account the basic elements Represented by the purpose of the test and the level it measures and its procedures, noting at the same time the method of writing the test represented by the short method, which includes writing the name of the test, its purpose and registration, as well as the detailed method of writing it, which includes the name of the test, its purpose, the tools used in it, the method of its performance and registration.
The symposium concluded with a set of recommendations, the most important of which is the adoption of skill tests that keep pace with the development in the skill performance of sporting events, the construction of skill tests based on the analysis of skill performance of higher international levels, the inclusion of tests as much as possible devices and tools that verify the objectivity of measurement, writing the tests in a scientific way that achieves the accuracy and objectivity of measurement and clarification all performance procedures and calculating grades, clarifying the characteristics of the community on which the tests that were based on it can be applied.
