Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Women at the University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Fatima Abd Malih, and in collaboration with the Individual Games Department, the College’s Rehabilitation, Employment and Follow-up Unit and the Student Activities Unit organized the Sports Festival for Movement Games titled “Towards the Goal.”

The festival was held in cooperation with the Director of the Student Activities Department at the University of Technology, Asst. Prof. Dr. Ameen Thanoon Ahmed; Ms. Shaimaa Behzad, head of the Iraqiya Huna team; and Ms. Shaimaa Al-Hashemi, head of the Mumayazoon Foundation. The Administrative Assistant to the President of the University of Technology, Prof. Dr. Farhad Mohammed Othman, attended.

The festival featured various interactive and physical activities, including movement-based games and “Towards the Goal” competitions designed especially for children with disabilities. A friendly football match was also held between orphaned children from Al-Muhasin Primary School and Al-Farah Orphan Care Association.

The event concluded with gifts and awards being distributed to all participants, presented by the Dean of the College and the Administrative Assistant of the University of Technology. They extended their best wishes for continued success, affirming that the festival’s primary objective was to break the routine of daily life and bring joy and happiness to the hearts of orphans and children with disabilities. Organizers emphasized the importance of providing these vulnerable groups with emotional and psychological support and material assistance.

This festival is a practical embodiment of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being, and Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
