The Media and Public Relations Unit in the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Girls at the University of Baghdad, under the supervision of the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Fatima Abd maleh In cooperation with the employee, Ara Zou Karim Majeed in the Independent High Electoral Commission / Department of Operations and Information Technology / Division of Procedures and Training, to hold an educational seminar for undergraduate students entitled (Biometric Registration), in Akram Fahmy hall in the college.
Miss Zo Karim, demonstrated the concept of biometric registration, which is the process of registering and collecting voter data electronically through the use of an electronic biometric registration form, with the addition of ten fingerprints and a photo for the purpose of creating an updated electronic voter register database in preparation for the implementation of the electronic voting process in the upcoming electoral stages, noting here that its types are the paper voter card and the electronic voter card, short-term non-biometric and long-term biometric, explaining the registration sections for the purpose of voting for members of Iraqi society to public, private and displaced persons.
She also pointed out the possibility of continuous innovations to correct information, deletions, additions and changes, by emphasizing bringing the documents required to update the data electronically.
Miss Nara Zo announced the existence of a dedicated toll-free number (5667) to inquire about everything related to the biometric registration process or how to receive or update the voter card.
At the end of the symposium, the Dean of the College awarded Dr. Fatima, an employee of the Independent High Electoral Commission, the shield of the college, appreciating her efforts and her effective contribution in setting up such an educational symposium that urges students on the electronic registration process, wishing her success in her work in service of our beloved Iraq.
