The Continuing Education Unit at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Girls, University of Baghdad, under the patronage of its Dean, held a (volleyball refereeing training course); volleyball instructors: Prof. Dr Suhad Qasim, Prof. Dr Luma Samir, Prof. Dr. Najlaa Abbas, Prof. Dr. Huda Badawi, Asst. Prof. Dr Naima Zidan and Lect, as well as Farah Alaa, presented it.

The course focused on clarifying the most important equipment and tools needed for volleyball events in terms of the court floor consisting of a free zone with a height of no less than (7 m), a length of (10-9.5 m) and a width of (1 m), adopting a system of (3) balls in the competitions of the International Federation and the official (5) balls and the team consists of (12) players, a coach (1), an assistant coach (2) and a medical staff (2) one doctor and the second a therapist. Its tools are a T-shirt, shorts and socks similar to sports shoes and in one colour numbered from (1-20); the match is conducted by lottery, the winning set is calculated for the team that scores 25 points first and advances by at least two points except in the fifth tiebreaker set in the event of a tie 24-24, the game continues until the difference reaches two points, while the winning match is for the team that scores or wins three sets, the course also helps to clarify the role of libero and how to change players and his movements, in addition to explaining the official hand signals of the referees. This course achieves one of the sustainable development goals represented by the fourth goal, good education.
