Professor Dr. Abeer Dakhel Hatem, a faculty member at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Girls at the University of Baghdad, chaired the ministerial committee tasked with evaluating the establishment of a Doctoral program in Physical Education and Sports Sciences at Samarra University.

The committee conducted a field inspection of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at Samarra University to closely examine the availability of essential requirements and approved standards for program establishment. The tour included an evaluation of human resources and the efficiency of the teaching staff, focusing on academic titles and the specific specializations required.

Furthermore, the inspection covered infrastructure, including classrooms, scientific laboratories, and sports fields, assessing their suitability for the research requirements of postgraduate students. The committee emphasized adherence to legal regulations and reviewed the conditions stipulated in Postgraduate Studies Instruction No. 26 of 1990 to ensure the scientific rigor of the proposed academic program.

The committee affirmed that this step is part of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s efforts to expand the postgraduate study base in Iraqi universities, serving the athletic and academic movement in the country. At the conclusion of the visit, the committee praised the warm reception and the cooperation demonstrated by the administration of Samarra University in facilitating the ministerial committee’s mission for the benefit of the girls and students in the region.
