The Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Girls, University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Fatima Abd Maleh, accompanied by the Assistant Dean for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Prof. Dr. Aseel Jalil, and the Head of the Team Games Branch, Prof. Dr. Nihad Muhammad Alwan, participated in the Fifth Scientific Conference for Sports Sciences of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences. Sports at Al-Mustansiriya University, held under the slogan (A new vision for curricula and teaching methods according to sustainable development and the needs of the labor market) for the period from (6-7/3/2024), and the participation of our college teaching staff in scientific research, in addition to a number of them chairing membership in committees to discuss the research of researchers participating in Conference.
The conference aimed to achieve sustainable development by paying attention to the programs and outputs of colleges of physical education and teaching competencies in line with the needs of the labor market, encouraging thinking and innovation in teaching design and emphasizing the importance of technological integration to meet educational needs, stimulating and enhancing dialogue and exchanging experiences about the challenges facing the field of curricula and teaching methods and their modernization. Searching for innovative solutions, studying curricula and teaching strategies in (departments under development) sports training – sports management – sports for people with disabilities.
The conference discussed several topics, including applications of artificial intelligence and educational technology in curricula and methods of teaching physical education and sports sciences, modern applications of models and strategies for teaching physical education in schools, twenty-first century skills in teaching methods, models, strategies and educational methods for people with disabilities.
In conclusion, the Dean of the College of Physical Education at Al-Mustansiriya University awarded certificates of participation and wrote letters of thanks and appreciation to all participants in the conference, wishing them success and progress in their work in service of the scientific process and service to our beloved Iraq.
This participation is one of the sustainable development goals represented by the fourth goal: quality education, and the seventeenth goal: partnership to achieve the goals.
