A master’s thesis entitled (The effect of speed endurance training according to the race speed to develop some physical abilities on the pulse rate and the achievement of running 800 meters for men) was discussed at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Girls, University of Baghdad, by the researcher (Baraq Raad Katea).

The discussion committee comprised Prof. Dr. Mahdi Kazim Ali from Al-Isra University as Chairman, Assist. Prof. Dr. Lisa Rustum Yaqoub as Supervisor, Assist. Prof. Dr. Iman Sabaih Hussein and Assist. Prof. Dr. Ali Sadiq Diab is a member.

The study aimed to prepare speed endurance training according to the race speed, identify the effect of speed endurance training according to the race speed to develop some physical abilities for men’s 800-meter runners, identify the effect of speed endurance training according to the race speed on the pulse rate of men’s 800-meter runners, identify the effect of speed endurance training according to the race speed in developing the achievement of men’s 800-meter runners.

The study concluded that the applied training method positively and effectively impacted the development of speed and performance endurance, reflecting its impact on achievement. Using speed endurance training according to race speed in developing some physical abilities based on the pulse rate of the men’s 800-meter run positively impacted the experimental group compared to the control group. The results of the study proved the effectiveness of speed endurance training according to the race speed, the clear impact on developing physical abilities, and the achievement of the 800-meter men. Speed endurance training effectively impacted the achievement of the sample members due to the requirements for developing the special abilities of this event.

The study recommended the need to pay attention to monitoring the development of speed endurance, strength, performance, and pulse rate through periodic tests due to their importance in measuring progress and development in the achievement of the 800-meter men, paying attention and monitoring the pulse rate by trainers due to its direct relationship to the physical abilities that the competitor possesses directly, preparing programs, preparing training programs according to the level of players in a manner that is consistent with physical abilities, physiological indicators and the type of sports events, focusing on developing the qualities of endurance and speed during training.

This discussion achieves one of the Sustainable Development Goals, represented by the fourth goal: quality education.
