The College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Girls, University of Baghdad, under the supervision of its Dean, Prof. Dr. Fatima Abd Maleh, and the Assistant Dean for Scientific and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Suhad Hassib, conducted the first batch of tests for students applying for direct admission to the initial/morning study for the academic year (2024-2025).
All applicants were subjected to several tests through seven specialised committees. The first is the Physical Safety Committee, whose mission is to test height and weight and conduct a comprehensive medical examination regarding body structure and free from physical disabilities. Then they move to the specialised Physical Tests Committee to conduct several tests, including the speed test – running from a standing position for a distance of 30 meters; the accuracy test – throwing ten balls at a drawn target; the strength test – hanging on to the peace to exhaust the effort, the coordination test – numbered circles, the agility test – rebound running, the sitting test from lying down with bent knees for 30 seconds, the full descent test from standing for 30 seconds, the flexibility test – bending forward from a long sitting, the 400-meter running test, then to the skill tests committee such as the basketball, volleyball, hand, foot, gymnastics test, in addition, they pass through other committees such as preparation and preparing the requirements of the tests and following up on their progress and standards. The tests concluded with a personal interview committee for the applicants by the Dean of the College, Dr. Fatima, and her assistants for scientific affairs, Prof. Dr. Suhad Hassib, and the administrative, Prof. Dr. Aseel Jalil, directing some general questions about the academic branch such as scientific, literary, and vocational, and the average, and the nature of the games they prefer to play and how many players they have in addition to clarifying some academic subjects such as swimming and scouting, which have a special system, as they are among the conditions required for admission to the college, wishing success and good luck for all applicants.
At the end of the tests, all applicants expressed their admiration for the performance and effort made by the college staff, as well as their gratitude and pleasure for the facilities provided to them and the programmed organisation of the tests according to the specialised committees.
These tests are one of the sustainable development goals represented by the third and fourth goals of good health, well-being, and good education.
